New Culinary Hub Opening in Gainesville
City Food Hall, the fastest growing food hall company in the U.S., is set to open one of its innovative food hall concepts in the midtown area of Gainesville on Thursday, August 29th, 2024.
Located within The Standard at Gainesville complex and just across from the University of Florida campus, the new 14,000 sq foot food hall will showcase emerging and established local chefs from 10 specialty restaurant concepts. The diverse food offering will be complemented by an expansive, full-service neighborhood bar, and a dynamic entertainment schedule.
Each food vendor in the hall has been selected based on their ability to bring diverse culinary creations, as well as a unique concept, flair, and passion for their craft. From authentic Middle Eastern and Asian fusion cuisine, to succulent smash burgers, and handcrafted lemonade and gelato, City Food Hall Gainesville will offer something for every palette and occasion.
From regular weekly happenings to special events, and live entertainment, City Food Hall Gainesville will feature a comprehensive entertainment schedule to make this a dynamic community dining and entertainment hub.
As well as being a boost to the local culinary scene, the food hall will act as an incubator for Gainesville’s culinary talent, providing a turn-key space for food entrepreneurs to build their businesses and test their concepts, before ultimately branching out to open their own brick and mortar locations.
“Our goal is to become the city’s go-to dining destination for both the student population and the wider local community. Our food hall will be so much more than a dining destination for the vibrant Downtown area, it will be a flexible, interactive community space, designed to bring people and communities together. Whether customers want to grab a quick coffee, meet friends for dinner or stay all afternoon and work remotely, City Food Hall Gainesville will provide the ultimate gathering spot.” Peter Rounce, City Food Hall’s Founder and CEO, commented.
Rounce added: “Our diverse food offering allows groups of friends and families to bypass the familiar dilemma of ‘What type of food does everyone want for dinner?’ Instead, they can embark on a culinary journey around the world, with everyone choosing their own favorite flavors.”
The Grand Opening’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place at 11am on Thursday, August 29th, 2024 at 150 NW 13th Street, Gainesville, FL (directly beneath The Standard Gainesville apartments). The ceremony will be hosted by the Greater Gainesville Chamber of Commerce with Vice President of Member Development, Steve Cannon, leading the ceremony. Following the Ribbon Cutting, all vendors as well as the central bar, will open for business and will be serving up delicious drinks and eats until close (10pm). The opening celebration is free to attend, with food and drinks available for purchase.
Visitors to the food hall will have the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win an electric scooter along with a selection of City Food Hall gift cards. The prize draw will be open from 11am on Grand Opening day through the holiday weekend. The draw will take place at noon on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2024. No purchase necessary.
