Draft SHIP Annual Report available for review

The City of Gainesville is accepting public comments on its Draft State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Annual Report for a 30-day review period beginning Monday, July 20, 2026 and ending Friday, Aug. 21, 2026.
The SHIP Annual Report summarizes how the City used SHIP funding to implement the Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP) and provide affordable housing assistance to very low income, low-income and moderate-income households. The report covers program years 2023-2024, 2024-2025 and 2025-2026.

The Draft SHIP Annual Report can be accessed online from this page and the Housing & Community Development webpage. Hard copies of the Draft SHIP Annual Report are available to the public during regular business hours (Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at:

Funding included in the report totals:
- 2023-2024: $1,849,142.92
- 2024-2025: $1,235,242.85
- 2025-2026: $1,085,949.00
These totals include state allocations, program income, interest earned and other funding sources. SHIP funds supported programs including first-time homebuyer purchase assistance, homeowner rehabilitation, mortgage foreclosure intervention and homebuyer education and training.
Submit comments
The public is encouraged to review the Draft SHIP Annual Report and provide comments. Written comments must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2026. Comments must include the person’s name, address and the interest affected.
