The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce and Alachua County Commission are pleased to announce a public-private partnership that will help promote an environment that fosters economic growth, business expansion and attraction throughout Alachua County.

On Wednesday, April 16, at 5 p.m., the Gainesville Area Chamber and Alachua County Commission will hold its first Business and Economic Growth Workshop, consisting of business growth and economic development discussions.

The workshop will take place at the Alachua County Senior Recreation Center at 5701 NW 34th St. This event is free and open to the public. In addition to an Alachua County Commissioner and Chamber leadership, Steven Lachnicht, director of Alachua County Growth Management, and Dave Ferro, a member of the County’s Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC), will also be on hand as key speakers.

“This partnership with the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners will further establish the shared vision that the path to economic prosperity is through the creation of jobs and opportunity in this region,” said Tim Giuliani, President & CEO of the Gainesville Area Chamber. “Dialogue between elected leaders and business leaders is critical for the Chamber to pursue its vision of the Gainesville region being the global hub for talent, innovation and opportunity.”

In November 2013, the Gainesville Area Chamber established a similar-style partnership with the City of Gainesville by launching the Gainesville Small Business Growth Task Force, which is co-chaired by Gainesville Mayor Ed Braddy and Chamber President & CEO Tim Giuliani.
