Fans have a chance to share a laugh with award-winning author, David Sedaris, in-person, Wednesday, October 9th at the Phillips Center in Gainesville. Book signings will precede and follow the author’s reading. David Sedaris will catch you off guard with his irreverent laugh-out-loud storytelling. His humor is often autobiographical and self-deprecating, delivered in a distinctively sardonic voice. Sedaris’ stories capture what is most unexpected, hilarious, and poignant about life, expressing in precise language both the misanthropy and desire for connection that drive us all.
Sedaris is an American humorist, award-winning author, and radio contributor who gained public recognition in 1992 when National Public Radio aired his essay “Santaland Diaries.” His works include Barrel Fever, Calypso, Theft By Finding, Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, the New York Times Bestseller, Naked, and Me Talk Pretty One Day, which won the Thurber Prize for American Humor.
