Applicants sought for conservation board and citizens oversight committee

Alachua County is seeking applicants to fill an opening on the Land Conservation Board (LCB). The Board meets on the last Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m., at the Alachua County Environmental Protection Department (408 W. University Avenue, Gainesville).
The LCB provides an opportunity for citizen involvement in the selection and acquisition of Alachua County Forever Conservation Lands. The Board reviews and recommends properties to the County Commission and provides recommendations on stewardship issues. The LCB currently has a citizen-at-large position vacancy.

Wild Spaces and Public Places Citizens Oversight Committee Vacancy |
Alachua County is seeking applicants to fill an alternate vacancy on the Wild Spaces and Public Places Citizens Oversight Committee. The Committee oversees and ensures that funds collected through the Wild Spaces and Public Places sales tax, collected from 2017-2025, are expended in accordance with referendum language.
County Assistant Manager Gina Peebles said, “Serving on this Board is an opportunity for citizens to be involved by helping to make sure that Wild Spaces and Public Places funds are properly invested.”
