Tomlinson Motor Company Expands to St. Augustine with Second Dealership, Sunday Drive

Tomlinson Motor Company, a family-owned business based in Gainesville, is expanding to St. Augustine with the opening of its second dealership: Sunday Drive.
Located just off I-95 on SR 16 in St. Augustine, Sunday Drive brings the same customer-first car buying experience Tomlinson Motor Company is known for — offering nice, low-mileage, certified vehicles in a friendly, no-pressure environment, with true pricing, non-commissioned staff, and no dealer fees.
“We love the name Sunday Drive because it captures the whole vibe of our dealerships and the experience that we want customers to have,” said Tami Tomlinson, Co-Owner of Tomlinson Motor Company. “We’ve been family owned and operated in Gainesville for over 30 years, and we’re excited to bring that same relaxed, no-hassle business model to the beach.”
The new St. Augustine location was built from the ground up with a warm, welcoming coastal design.
“It’s not a big box store,” Tomlinson added. “We wanted it to feel approachable — a place where customers can take their time and enjoy the process.” Sunday Drive expects to hire approximately 30 employees in St. Augustine, while adding additional roles to its Gainesville staff of 20. The concept for Sunday Drive began about 4.5 years ago, based on the Tomlinson family’s belief that St. Augustine was the perfect market for a dealership experience built around transparency, comfort, and simplicity.
“We saw a need in St. Augustine for a dealership experience built around transparency and comfort — with true pricing, non-commissioned staff, and no dealer fees,” Tomlinson said. “St. Augustine is a special place, and we’re excited to become part of the community.”
Sunday Drive is expected to open February–March 2026. For anyone relocating to the area, visiting, or referring someone in St. Augustine, Sunday Drive will offer the same trusted service Gainesville has relied on for decades. Tomlinson Motor Company and Sunday Drive will continue to be family owned and operated. For more information and opening updates, visit SundayDrive.com.
